Life constantly confronts us with limitations — both internal and external — and in those moments, it can feel like everything is falling apart. This article reframes that experience beautifully, regardless of where you are in life, distilling it into simple yet powerful language that shifts your lens from constriction to "openness". A must-read for everyone.

Waiting for the next article!!!!

Replacing flies with openness rather than the opposite belief is such an important distinction. I think I’ve been internally swatting flies for a while without putting it that way, but they always returned. It makes sense that it was hard for my mind to do a full 180 degree spin in an instant. For me, that new thought carries the feeling that it is an imposter and the mind would reject it and bring back the original fly. But replacing the flies with openness has had such a bigger impact. My mind can more naturally accept the idea that I’m open to the change. Now, I can tell that the flies replaced by openness remain gone and I can hear the initial buzzing of bees trying to enter the hive

Sunil,

I’ve always seen you as one of the most limitless people I know. The fact that you were quietly carrying flies this whole time -that’s the most human and humbling thing about this piece.

So proud of you for swatting the fly that said ‘I’m not a writer.’

The hive is just beginning. 🐝

With love,

Sailaja

I liked this analogy and your writing style. Makes me think of the flies in my head that limit my writing. May be I can be open to trying writing again. Well written Sunil :)
